The Kaski chapter of the Rashtriya Yuva Sangh Nepal, the youth wing of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has prohibited self-declared anti-corruption campaigner Gyanendra Shahi’s entry in Kaski district.

According to reports, Shahi came down heavily on Nepal’s tourism minister Yogesh Bhattarai for delaying a Kathmandu-bound flight from Nepalgunj.

Shahi, who was also one of the passengers of the said flight, was allegedly rounded up on Sunday     from the venue of a press conference he called to reveal the cause of the flight passengers’ misbehaviour with the minister.

Shahi was released by the police on Monday.

The youth wing of the ruling CPN in a press statement said the organization has been compelled to protest against the people who misuse social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to create conflicts and delude public.

Controversy erupted as a video where passengers on board a Kathmandu-bound flight criticisng the minister for delaying the flight went viral on the social media.

Nepal minister Bhattarai admitted that he reached the airport at Nepalgunj late as he remained stuck in an event at Tikapur.

He also issued a public apology.

It may be mentioned that the home village (Pokhara) of CPN co-chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, falls under Kaski district.

The Kaski ban on Shahi is in line with instruction of Pushpa Kamal Dahal to students and youths on Monday to retaliate against anarchic and reactionary tendencies directed against the democratic republic.

The Buddha Air in a press statement said the flight from Nepalgunj was initially supposed to take-off at 18:25 but it had been re-scheduled to 18:40 after the aircraft reached Nepalgunj from Kathmandu later than the stipulated time.

The airlines also reportedly acknowledged that there had been a delay in the departure of the flight by 24 minutes on the basis of the revised time given to the Nepalgunj Airport.

The finally flight took off at 19:04.

The airlines also admitted that the flight had to be waited for minister Bhattarai’s arrival before the take-off.
