Guwahati: Support for the student-led protest at Jantar Mantar against alleged irregularities in competitive and board examinations continued to grow on Saturday, with leaders from different political parties joining the movement and demanding accountability from the Centre.

NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar extended his backing to the agitation organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), stating that the participation of large numbers of students and young job aspirants reflected widespread dissatisfaction over issues affecting the country’s youth.

Pawar said concerns surrounding the conduct of examinations such as NEET and CBSE, coupled with policy decisions impacting education and employment, had intensified frustration among young people. He argued that the government must address these grievances seriously and called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The protest also received support from CPI(ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, who joined demonstrators at the venue and expressed solidarity with students and job seekers.

Speaking at the gathering, Bhattacharya highlighted recurring controversies over examination management, unemployment and challenges facing the public education system. He said the concerns raised by students were legitimate and stressed the need for greater accountability from those responsible for the country’s education sector.

The demonstration, led by CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke, has brought together students, youth groups and political leaders demanding reforms in the examination system and action against alleged irregularities.
