Indonesia’s Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 is feared to have crashed shortly after take-off.

The Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 has been feared to have crashed with 62 passengers on board.

The plane is feared to have crashed into the sea after it lost all contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC) shortly after taking off from Indonesian capital Jakarta.

The Boeing 737-500 of the Sriwijaya Air lost up to 10,000 feet altitude within a minute before going missing.

The Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 (SJ182) was headed to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province from Jakarta.

All signals from the SJ182 flight were lost at 12:40pm Indian Standard Time (IST).

As per data available, the plane reached an altitude of almost 11 thousand feet before dropping to 250 feet and losing all contacts with the ATC.

As per reports, rescuers have been able to spot suspected debris in the sea north of the city.
