However, due to concerns over recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles in United States, the prestigious Awards show has been postponed.

The Grammy Awards has been rescheduled for March 14.

“After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artists scheduled to appear, we are rescheduling the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards to be broadcast Sunday, March 14, 2021,” Grammy Awards organisers stated.

Expressing concerns over the deteriorating COVID-19 situation in Los Angeles, the Grammy Awards organisers said that postponing the Awards function was the right thing to do.

“The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do,” said the Grammy organisers.

“Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show,” the organisers added.

Notably, the Oscars has also been postponed by 2 months from their original date of February 28 to April 25, with the format of the ceremony yet to be decided.
