Two National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Unification (NSCN-U) cadres and one over ground worker was nabbed during a joint operation at Namtola in Assam’s Sivasagar district late Saturday.
The joint operation was conducted by the Namtola Police, Sonari Army Camp under DAO Division and CRPF.

The operation was conducted after getting specific inputs from an over ground worker of the outfit who was arrested on May 16 last.
The over ground worker was arrested by the Maibella Army Camp.
After receiving inputs from the arrested over ground worker, the security forces collaborated the information and worked upon it leading to arrest of two dreaded cadres of NSCN-U and another over ground worker.

The arrested militants of NSCN-U have been identified as one Nyeie Konyak, aged around 31 years and Yangpang Koyank, aged around 21 years.
Both the arrested NSCN-U militants hail from Nagaland.
The over ground worker has been identified as one Abidur Rahman, aged around 23 years and hailing from Teok of Jorhat in eastern Assam.
This was confirmed by Charaideo district police station of Sonari.
In the operation, one .22 pistol, one magazine , two mobile phones and one wallet besides other incriminating documents were seized from the arrested militants.
It is revealed during the interrogation that the insurgents were involved in extortion and other anti-national activities in eastern Assam.
The incident has revealed inter-state network of insurgents has a strong hold in districts of eastern Assam which needs to be rooted out.
This genuine effort of the security forces to maintain peace in the districts of eastern Assam has been appreciated by the local population.
