These centres will be formed for the farmers to meet and discuss their problems. Agri-officers will meet the farmers at these centres regularly and get all the information about their problems and resolve them.

He added that the economy of the state cannot be boosted without developing the economic condition of the farmers.

Singha Roy assured that henceforth farmers of the state will no more be seen wasting their time visiting agriculture offices in order to get various government benefits because the new state government of Tripura will ensure that the agri-officials visit the farmers to provide them with quality seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and knowledge.

Speaking to reporters, after the cabinet meeting on Thursday evening the Minister said that it’s the duty of the Agri-officers to look into the benefits of the farming class of Tripura.

Meantime, the Minister recently met with the pineapple farmers of Kamalpur to acquire ground knowledge about the existing condition of the pineapple sector which has been badly affected as the previous government did not give much importance to it. Also, rubber cultivation worsened the situation.
