The Tripura Police organised band display in memory of martyrs on the eve of Police Martyrs Day in Agartala on Saturday. A highlight of the event was the Chief Minister (CM) of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb singing a patriotic song. Tripura State Rifles (TSR), Assam Rifles, Border Security Force (BSF) and State police band team participated in the programme in which CM Biplab Kumar Deb sang few lines from the Bengali patriotic song ‘Dhono dhanno pushpe bhora’ composed by DL Ray in order to pay homage to those personnel who went down fighting to secure the country’s frontiers and for the cause of the nation.
Earlier, the CM along with other police and paramilitary force officials paid floral tributes to the officials who sacrificed their lives on duty in Tripura and also felicitated their family members. Along with the whole nation, Police Commemoration Day will be observed in Tripura by paying homage to martyrs of various police forces who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation.

The Police Commemoration Day is observed on October 21 every year in memory of 10 CRPF personnel who were martyred on that day in 1959 at Hot Springs in Ladakh in the hands of Chinese Army.
