Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has compared CPI (M) and its Tribal wing Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) with “ ghosts who never die”.

While addressing an election rally in Dhalai district on Sunday, Deb asked the party workers and state BJP leaders not to think that the CPI(M) has lost its existence in the state.

The election rally was organized in the Manu and Chamanu-Chailengta autonomous district council constituencies.

CPIM state committee member Pabitra Kar came down heavily on the chief minister for making such a statement.

He said that just prior to three months the chief minister had told in a public meeting at Ambasa that the left front was non-existent in Tripura and now he admitted its presence.

Pabitra Kar said, “CPI(M) has public support in every village and habitat in Tripura.”
