In the evening, 28 other employees and officials of the Sepahijala district administration were tested for COVID19 and six of them were found positive for the virus.

All of them have been sent to Sagar Mahal Covid Care Center.

“28 employees and officials have been sent for home quarantine,” said additional district magistrate (ADM) Udayan Sinha.

A meeting was held at the district magistrate’s chamber on July 27 evening at Sepahijala.

Along with the superintendent of police, some other officials were present in the meeting.

It is suspected that the administrative officials and the SP were infected by the virus in this meeting.

In Tripura, the Sepahijala district is the worst affected by COVID19.

Thousands of youths from this district went out of the state in search of job and during the lockdown all of them remained stranded in various parts of the country including Mumbai.

Many of them tested positive for COVID19 when they returned home.

The district magistrate, the superintendent of police and other officials of the Sepahijala district administration remained busy in handling the COVID19 situation in the district.

“The DM, SP & some other staff of Sepahijala district administration have been found COVID19 positive. They all have performed commendable works in this fight against COVID19. I pray to Mata Tripurasundari for speedy recovery of all infected persons,” Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted.
