Tripura: 4 die, 6 injured in road mishap at Checrimai

Four persons died and six others were injured in a road mishap at Checrimai area in Tripura’s Sepahijala district on Thursday evening.

The road mishap took place as a Max vehicle collided head on with a bus.

The Max vehicle was coming from Udaipur towards Agartala while the bus was going towards Udaipura from Agartala.

The locals said all the four persons died on the spot.

Both the vehicles were badly damaged in the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Laxmi Rani from Amtali; Swapan Banarjee of Post office, Chowmuhani and Alok Chakraborty of Siddihi Asharm while fourth deceased is yet to be identified.

According to information, the deceased were government employees and were coming home as after daily work.

The locals informed that both the vehicles were running in high speed and the road mishap took place as the drivers failed to control the vehicles.

Police said the incident took place in between Bishalgarh and Parimal Chowmuhani on the National High way.

After the incident, the district magistrate of Sepahijala district and the superintendent of police rushed to the spot.

The police with the help of the locals rescued the six injured people and sent them to the nearby hospital.

Later, all the injured and the bodies of the deceased were sent to the Bishalgarh Hospital.
