Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday said that a special Covid-19 vaccination drive will be conducted for people in the age group of 18 and 44 years on June 21 and 22 across the state.

“Along with the entire India, National Health Mission (NHM), Tripura and the state health department have made arrangements to conduct a massive vaccination drive for people in the age group of 18-44 years in 1,342 vaccination camps on June 21 and 22,” Biplab Kumar Deb said.

NHM, Tripura mission director Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal said “We have a target to vaccinate about 50 per cent of the population, which is about 6.12 lakhs approximately between 18- 44 years beginning from June 21 till the end of this month.”

The chief minister appealed to all MLAs, leaders, volunteers of social organizations, clubs and forums, government employees and youths below 45 years to come forward and get themselves vaccinated in order to immunize Covid-19 infections in the state.

“This two-day vaccination drive in 1,342 camps across Tripura will be another record across the country just as the state achieved the top position in terms of vaccination earlier in May this year,” said Deb.
