Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Ram Madhav is coming to Tripura on March 18 with a mission.
His priority will be to offer guidance to the newly elected Cabinet of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on smooth governance.
Ram Madhav will also have consultative meetings with the state party workers as the state unit is now devoid of leadership, with Deb becoming the Chief Minister and most of the key office bearers also becoming ministers.
The national general secretary of the saffron party also has an arduous task in hand – to choose a new president for the state party unit and other key functionaries.
Meanwhile, the BJP has already issued strict notification to the state unit not to induct any new member at all capacities for the next six months.
Sources close to the party disclosed that the BJP national general secretary, who will be camping in Agartala for one or two days, will have crucial meeting with the cabinet ministers and offer suggestions to go ahead with smooth governance to avoid any hiccups as almost all of them are first-timers.
Ram Madhab will also have meeting with party leaders and work out how to go about with party functions in the days to come.
Party sources also said that couple of central party leaders are also expected to visit the State in the coming days with the same purpose after Ram Madhav sets the process into motion.
The tough challenge that lies ahead for the party is the civic elections scheduled to be held in around one year’s time.
