A man has sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a python at Bishalgarh in Tripura‘s Sepahijla’s district.
The incident occurred on Saturday when the victim Mekzil Marak was attacked by the reptile while he was engaged in clearing some bushes near the forest office at Kalkalia in Bishalgarh.
Locals soon rushed him to Bishalgarh Hospital from where he was referred to the IGM Hospital in Agartala.
According to locals, the had python ventured out of the bushes surrounding the forest office.

Workers engaged in clearing the bushes captured the snake and informed the forest officials.
However, failing to get any response from the forest officials, they released the reptile in the jungle nearby.
According to locals, the nearby forests are inhabited by a large number of snakes, including three pythons.
