A 12-feet-long python snake was spotted at Amtola Village in Hojai on Sunday morning, which was later rescued by the Hojai forest department officials.

To be weighing around 25 kilograms, the snake was spotted in the residence of one Eibochoi Singha.

“The snake was first spotted by my daughter, who raised an alarm as soon as she saw the snake in the backyard,” Singha said.

“She came running towards me and was screaming out of fear,” he added.

“Without wasting much time, we immediately informed the forest department about the reptile,” he further said.

As soon as the forest department was informed about the snake, officials rushed to the spot immediately and took hold of the reptile.

The snake was later released at the nearby Shildubi forest area.
