The Purbachal Exim Chamber of Commerce, Dharmanagar has urged the Tripura Chief Minister to construct a permanent bridge over Raghnacherra bridge along with development of 100-metre road on both the sides of the bridge at Raghnabazar LCS, Dharmanagar.

In a letter, the Purbachal Exim Chamber of Commerce, Dharmanagar also urged the Tripura CM to construct an integrated complex at the Old Raghnabazar LCS.

The letter, signed by Ramananda Bhattacharjee, Secretary, Purbachal Exim Chamber of Commerce, Dharmanagar, stated, “We have been suffering a lot due to absence of permanent bridge over Raghnacherra while transshipment of goods. In this regard, 42 BRTF was entrusted with the infrastructural work of this LCS. But they suddenly left Tripura in 2008 leaving the work of permanent bridge incomplete. It is to be mentioned here that, from Bangladesh side, they conveyed necessary clearance for construction of permanent bridge situated almost at the zero point of international border line a few years back. The said bridge along with 100 metres road development on both sides over here is a paramount necessity for smooth run of our trade.”

Bhattacharjee also stated in the letter that an integrated complex meant for customs, immigration with warehouse facility is a vital need to make any LC Station active in true sense. “In this regard, the Director of Industry and Commerce earmarked the area for the said complex and part of land was also acquired,” he stated. He also informed that after that there has been no further development in this regard.
