Agartala: The Northeast state of Tripura is witnessing a high voter turnout in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections held on Friday (April 26).

68.32 per cent voter turnout was recorded in Tripura till 3 pm, the Election Commission of India (ECI) informed.

The Tripura East constituency went to polls in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency is reserved for scheduled tribes (ST).

In Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency, the electoral contest features BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma competing against INDIA bloc candidate and CPI-M leader Rajendra Reang.

The Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency encompasses all assembly segments of the Dhalai, North, Unakoti, and Khowai districts, as well as four assembly constituencies of South Tripura and three assembly constituencies in Gomati district.
