Another person in Tripura died of COVID19 infection on Wednesday, taking the state’s death toll to 3.

A 30-year-old man died of infection at the GBP Hospital in Agartala on Wednesday.

The patient was taken to the hospital from Khowai on Wednesday after he tested positive for COVID19.

The patient was tested on Wednesday and his condition was critical.

As he was suffering from breathing problem and had other COVID19 symptoms, the patient was shifted to the GBP hospital, a health officer of Khowai district hospital said.

He died few hours after his admission in the GBP hospital.

Tripura chif minister Biplab Kumar Deb has confirmed the state’s third COVID19 death.

On July 12, a 72-year-old man died due to COVID19 in Tripura.

The first person died of COVID19 in Tripura last month.

Earlier, a woman committed suicide in the bathroom of GB Hospital’s flu clinic.

Later, she was detected COVID19 positive.

Meanwhile, 98 more people in Tripura tested COVID19 positive on Wednesday, taking the state’s total to 2,282.

Chief minister Deb in a tweet said a total of 3,412 samples were tested on Wednesday, out of which 98 were found positive for the virus.

Of the positive cases, 28 were flight passengers, 7 people came in contact with the positive and symptomatic patients and another person had travel history, Deb said.

The chief minister said 62 samples were detected positive in the Antigen Test.

Informing about the death, chief minister Deb said, “Unfortunately 1 patient from Khowai Dist. died in AGMC  today.”

Meanwhile, 66 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various Covid Care Centres (CCCs) across Tripura after they tested negative for the virus.

“DISCHARGE UPDATE: I am happy to share that 66 COVID-19 patients have been discharged today from various District CCCs after their test results came NEGATIVE,” chief minister Deb tweeted.
