The tourism ministry had introduced the PRASAD scheme to develop different pilgrimage destinations in India in a planned and prioritized manner to promote religious tourism.
It is a centrally-funded scheme.
The chief minister, who is in New Delhi at present, also met Union textiles minister Smriti Irani.
Irani assured Deb of providing full support from the centre for developing handloom clusters in Tripura.
The chief minister had recently gone to New Delhi to meet BJP senior leaders to discuss the present political scenario in Tripura.
A few dissident MLAs of the present Tripura government have been demanding the removal of Biplab Kumar Deb from the post of the chief minister.
