Vijaya Rahatkar, national president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha was in Tripura to campaign for the BJP West Tripura candidate Pratima Bhowmik.
The BJP Mahila Morcha chief said that she is noticing changes in Tripura especially for the women folk after the BJP came to power in the State.
Speaking on some of the central government’s schemes that the State Government implemented like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna under which more than two lakh women got free gas connections beside more than 75 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna during the last one year.
She also praised Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb for taking the drastic step to make the state drugs free under Nasha Mukt Tripura and 10 per cent reservation for women in the recruitment of police and paramilitary forces in the state.
Rahatkar also spoke on the various other schemes that the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched focusing the women and which has benefited crores across the length and breadth of the country.
According to her under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, nine crore toilets have been constructed during the last five years and women are the most beneficial out of it beside Mudra Loan which has empowered the women force.
She said that the prime minister realizing the sufferings of the women due to smoke created in traditional stoves and which is also harmful to their health had started the free gas connection for the women and during this period more than 7.25 crores free LPF connections were given.
Moreover, to provide safety and security to the women fold the law has been changed and toughened so that no criminals are spared and they think twice before committing any crime against women
But unfortunately, the Opposition parties which have formed ‘Mahagathbandhan’ has no work left but oppose Modi who is working day and night against corruption and anti-national forces to provide safety and security to the women.
The BJP Mahila Morcha chief said that the people of the nation has seen that the Opposition parties which only raises question on every nationalistic act of the present government under PM Modi be it surgical strike on black money, air strike on militant camps across the border so now the people have to decide to make a strong nationalistic government again under Narendra Modi or anti-nation government under the Opposition.
According to her, this election is choosing between the ‘Chowkidar and the Chors’ and people have to decide to whom they shall vote.
Without naming any of the young leaders in the Opposition parties she asked the gathering are you people going to cast your vote for Sonia Gandhi’s son, daughter or Lalu Prashad’s son?
In the gathering, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also campaigned for the BJP candidate.
Later the BJP women supporters also took part in a torch rally.
