Agartala: Tripura Police on Tuesday has arrested one person for allegedly raping a minor girl on Monday night in Ambassa under Dhalai District.
Sources said that the family of the victim alleged that their daughter was raped in Annaram Para under Ambassa police station on Monday.

The accused person has been identified as Thangchi Rai Tripura.

“The accused escaped after the incident on Monday night. Later in the night, a case was filed with the Ambassa Women Police Station by the family of the victim. Finally the information came to the police of Ambassa that the accused was in his close relative’s house in the Manu railway station area”, said a police official.

As usual, the police based on the complaint filed by the parents, started a search operation and arrested him in the afternoon.
An investigation has been initiated and the accused has been taken into custody.
