The arrest was the result of a meticulous operation by Agartala GRP, following the detention of four Bangladeshi women who were arrested for illegally crossing the border into the state. These women were intercepted by GRP officials at Agartala railway station and subsequently taken into custody.

“During the interrogation of the detained Bangladeshi women, it was revealed that Jhutan Dutta, residing in the Matai area under the Belonia police station, had aided them in entering the state illegally,” stated Tapas Das, Officer-in-Charge of Agartala GRP police station.

Authorities further disclosed that Jhutan Dutta has a prior record, including a pending case with the Guwahati branch of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
