Agartala: Border Security Force (BSF) deployed along the India-Bangladesh border has seized Yaba addictive tablets valued at Rs 91 lakh in the international market in Sepahijala district of Tripura.

Based on specific input, BSF troops in Sepahijala district’s Kamalasagar Border Out Post (BOP) were put on a high alert.

During night patrolling, alert BSF personnel noticed a group of people throwing an object over the border fence.

On being challenged, the suspects fled the scene.

A Quick Response Team (QRT) of BSF swiftly reached the site and launched a search of the area.

After an extensive search, the team recovered a packet containing 9,100 Yaba addictive tablets.

As per BSF sources, the seizure took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

The BSF foiled yet another cross-border smuggling attempt and reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking in Tripura and ensuring the safety and security of the region.
