Nagaland government on Wednesday launched a quick response team on child labour at Kohima  commemorating the World Day Against Child Labour.

Launching the team, Kohima DC Anoop Khinchi called upon the team members to act promptly on the complaints on child labour and frame constructive action plan for conduct of the mass operation.

The team shared the action plan for conduct of rescue operation in workshops, garages, hotels and restaurants etc.

It said any child found and rescued from any of these places, he or she will be produced before the Child Welfare Committee for further decision.

The team also decided to come up with a proper standard operating procedure to carry out the operation.

SDPO (North), M Yambemo Humtsoe, said the team has to carry out survey and identify the areas before the conduct of the mass rescue operation and shoulder the responsibility together.

SDO (C), Dev. Kohima, Shaying Sheu, who is the chairman of the district quick response team, suggested inclusion of legal personnel in the team as it involves legal matter.

The World Day Against Child Labour, which is held every year on June 12, is intended to foster the worldwide movement against child labour in any form.
