Deb on Monday appealed to people not to dump garbage and poly bags in the open and drains leading to blockage of the sewerage system rather there should be awareness on the benefits and how to keep the society clean and side-by-side utilization of the waste by segregating them for recycling and which can not only create employment but also add to the economy.

Meantime, principal secretary Kumar Alok said that in modern-day waste management there is nothing called waste rather if it can be managed for proper utilization it is a resource for creating wealth.

Citing examples he said that even human feces can be used for producing fertilizers or methane gas which can be used for filling up cylinders or supplied through pipelines for burning purpose.
