The third all Naga tribes’ coordination meeting unanimously resolved to stand united in support of an early solution to the Naga political issue.

The meeting decided to write an appeal letter, if necessary, to the Naga groups to sit across the table and prepare and place common agenda for a peaceful solution to the Naga issue.

The meeting was called by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO).

It was decided that all the tribes, who attended the meeting, would meet the NSCN (IM) and the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) as a gesture of solidarity.

They will also convey the decisions taken in the meeting at the earliest, the media cell of the ENPO said in a release on Sunday.

The meeting was attended by Ao Senden, Sumi Hoho, Lotha Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Pochury Hoho, Zeliangrong Public Organisation, Central Nagaland Tribes Council and ENPO, along with its six federating tribal bodies.

At the meeting, ENPO president Kekongchim said the expectation of the Naga people from a solution to the Naga issue is enduring peace in the entire Naga-dominated areas.

“However, it would not be possible until all Naga political groups come together and hammer out the differences, if there is any, and place common agenda before the government of India for a peaceful and lasting solution,” he said.

Kekongchim appealed to the negotiators to come together to have the final agreement acceptable to all the groups and in the best possible interest of the concerned people.

The ENPO initiated the peace mission on April 23 by meeting all Naga tribes, including Nagas of Arunachal, Assam and Manipur.

It held three joint coordination meetings of all Naga tribes where all the people concerned expressed their desire for a peaceful and long lasting solution to the Naga political issue at the earliest, the release added.
