111 grams of heroin were seized from the tea stall, and another 187 grams recovered from the roadside near the tea stall.

This happened due to prompt placement of nakas by the ANTF team on receiving reliable inputs about potential drugs deal at 7th Miles area, said an ANTF official.

Police could resolve the mystery of abandoned heroin through a single clue of local taxi (ML05-G-7902) which was used to bring consignment of drugs to Pomlum.

After continuous search for nearly 48 hours from September 17, a driver of the local taxi identified as Kitborlang Ryntathiang, 27, of Lumparing, Kynjatphutbol was caught.

Ryntathiang led to a middleman identified as Rishan Pyngrope, 29, of Lumparing, Kynjatphutbol, who then led to the key supplier, Rinku Saikia, 25, alias Roy alias Babu of Nongrim Hills in Shillong.

Within 60 hours, police could connect all the dots, and arrested all the three accused and seized the vehicle.

A case has been registered at Mawngap police station under section 21(C) NDPS Act.
