Sharing a video on his Twitter handle the Meghalaya CM said:  “Meghalaya is all set for the December North East Food Show in Shillong and we want different stakeholders to be together and explore the potential of food industries in the region.”

In the video, the Meghalaya CM said, “Last year, we visited Paris along with a team and visited the SIAL Paris. That was a beginning of a really important phase for our State.”

“We decided that SIAL was the right partner and right platform to take forward the food processing sector.”

“So, we have partnered with SIAL India and today we have visited a very big stall here showcasing almost all different kind of products of the food processing sector,” said the CM.

“To follow up this, we are coming up with a very big SIAL conference in Shillong which will be a programme not just for Shillong in Meghalaya but for the entire Northeast region and the neighbouring countries also.”

Stating that a large number of national and international delegates would attend the event, Conrad Sangma said, “It will be a very powerful platform where different entrepreneurs, farmers, technology providers, buyers and sellers will come together.”

He also hoped that “an initiative like this there will be a big boost for the food processing sector and entrepreneurship in the State and the region as well”.
