In separate occasions, students and teachers from Singngat in Manipur and Aizawl from Mizoram called on President Kovind on Monday at the Rashtapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday.

The students and teachers from Mizoram and Manipur had interactions with President Kovind as part of National Integration Tours initiated by Assam Rifles.

Informing about the interactions of President Kovind with the students and teachers from two northeastern States and uploading some of the images, the President’s Secretariat on the official Twitter hand of the Rashtrapati Bhavan stated: “In separate engagements President Kovind met students and teachers from Singngat (Manipur) and from Aizawl (Mizoram), on a National Integration Tour; and Shri Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairperson, Competition Commission of India.”

The National Integration Tour for students and teachers from Singngat  in Manipur was started on January 7, 2019 and it will be wrapped up on January 20, 2019. The last destination of the tour is Agra in Uttar Pradesh.

The National Integration Tour has been initiated by the Headquarters 27 Sector of Assam Rifles.

On the other hand, the National Integration Tour for students and teachers from Aizawl, the State capital of Mizoram, which has also been initiated by Assam Rifles, was started on January 7, 2019. The tour will be wrapped up on January 20, 1019.

It may be mentioned that Assam Rifles has been conducting National Integration Tours for students and teachers of the Northeast.

A National Integration Tour to Bengaluru was organized by the Haflong Battalion of Headquarters 22 Sector  under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) from December 1 to December 11.

The team comprised 20 girl students from Assam’s Dima Hasao district, two teachers and representatives of Assam Rifles.
