The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday issued transfer orders to Indian Police Service (IPS) couple Karthik and Priyanka Kashyap to Mizoram.
The couple has been serving in Goa for the past five years after they have been transferred there in August 2013.
The MHA, in October 2016, had issued transfer orders to move the couple to New Delhi.
In 2016, the police officers had made a request to MHA for immediate transfer from Goa but the Goa government didn’t relieve them, reports TOI.
In March 2018, on the request of the Goa Government, the order was kept in abeyance.
Karthik is in charge of Goa police’s crime branch and Priyanka is in charge of the directorate of vigilance’s anti-corruption branch (ACB).
In view of the transfer, the MHA has now transferred 2007 and 2008 IPS batch officers Aslam Khan and Pankaj Kr Singh to the north-eastern state.
In the MHA order, deputy secretary Manoj Kumar Jha said that in case of any kind of delay in relieving/joining, the officers would be deemed relieved from the segment concerned.
Meanwhile, as per a Home Ministry order, two IAS officers are posted to Goa and one transferred from Goa administration to Delhi.
The order said that P S Reddy has been posted back to Goa from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, while Sheo Pratap Singh, the current principal secretary (tourism and PWD) has been transferred to Delhi.
A 1991 batch IAS officer Puneet K Goel will join Goa administration from Delhi, the order stated.
