Sikkim Sangram Parishad (SSP) on Saturday has written to Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) president P S Golay expressing a possibility of an electoral alliance between the two parties ahead of the ensuing 2019 Assembly polls in the State.

According to Sikkim Express report, in the letter sent on Saturday, SSP president and former MP Dil Kumari Bhandari mentioned about the unconditional support rendered to the SKM in 2014 elections by the then Sangram president Late Nar Bahadur Bhandari.

“Our party is also in favour of Parivartan in Sikkim as per the wishes of the people of Sikkim. The 2019 election is very near. As per the decision of the party high command, we seek to inform you that a clear policy is urgent on whether there would be an alliance between SSP and SKM for the upcoming election,” the Sangram president has written to SKM president Golay, according to the report.

Bhandari has also requested a written response along with appropriate conditions on the alliance possibility from the SKM president by January 5.

“Our party will take its decision regarding future steps if response does not come by January 5,” she further wrote, stated the report.
