A 28-member squad of Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club (SHSC) is leaving on Friday for the Under-18 Youth I-League 2018 to be held from 28 November to 02 December at Imphal in Manipur.

Home team is participating in this youth I-League for the second time after its debut appearance in 2015-16 season held here at Paljor Stadium.

The league is being organized by All India Football Federation (AIFF).

The team will be led by coaches, Pushpa Gurung and Pranay Subba and Sonam Dadul Denzongpa as manager. Sikkim Himalayan SC has been placed with Aizawl Football Club, Mizoram and Trau Football Club and Neroca Football Club from Manipur in the zonal round and the zonal topper will only proceed to the next round of the league.

SHSC will be playing its first match against Trau Football Club on 28 November.

Sikkim Himalayan SC founding president, Tenzing Lamtha has expressed his best wishes to the team members to the youth league. He expressed that every member of the team was all set to give their best in the league. He stated that the club has been working to produce talented footballers from the State.

Sikkim Himalayan SC coach Pushpa Gurung stated that the team was all set to give its best in the league. He mentioned that the team members have gone through a rigorous training. He expressed that Youth I-League was very important for young players to show their skills to impress big football clubs.
