Sikkim beauty queen Sang Doma Tamang expressed her immense happiness on getting an opportunity to represent her State in the upcoming fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2019.

She has been officially crowned as Miss India Sikkim 2019 in an event on April 23 at Kolkata to represent the State in her dream event of fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2019 to be held in June at Mumbai.

Tamang was mentored by a Gangtok-based event organizer, Positude. She finished Miss Sikkim 2018 organized by Positude in top five. She took part in the Miss India North East round held last month at Guwahati along with other four contestants from Sikkim and shortlisted to represent Sikkim in the grand finale of fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2019.

She will be leaving for a month-long grooming session followed by the grand finale of fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2019 on May 7 next.

Nineteen-year-old Tamang is the daughter of Ugen Tamang and Phulmaya Tamang of Upper Shyari in East Sikkim. She completed her studies from Deorali Girls Senior Secondary School and presently pursuing her graduation in Education honours as first year student of Nar Bahadur Bhandari Degree College, Tadong.

Speaking to media persons on Sunday afternoon, Tamang expressed her immense happiness on getting the opportunity to represent the State in the national event.

“It is a proud moment for me to be crowned as Miss India Sikkim 2019. Although the competition is going to be really tough and competitive, but I will give my best to live my dream,” she expressed.

She stated that the recently held zonal round was a learning experience for her to work on the areas of her weaknesses.

“Zonal round has filled me with new energy and confidence and it has also given me a chance to work on my weaknesses. My smile and positive vibe are my strength and I have been preparing hard to give my best in the grand finale to win the Miss India title and if not then to finish in top five,” Tamang said.

She expressed her gratitude to the entire family of Positude for constantly guiding her in this field. She said, “Positude is my second family and strength as it has identified my potential and then groomed it and has been constantly guiding me to reach to this level. I would like to express my gratitude to CEO Gyurmila Bhutia and entire team of Positude for their support.”

She expressed her desires to see herself as a successful model and actress in near future. “I also want to give back to my State by supporting and guiding aspiring youths in this field to take them to the national and international levels,” she added.
