Sikkim on Monday opened its account in the medals’ tally at the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games in Guwahati with a bronze medal.

For the tiny Himalayan state, weightlifter Pemba Tshering Sherpa won the bronze at the 81-kg, Under-21 men’s sporting event.

The Sikkim contingent comprises of six boxers, four athletes and one weightlifter.

The contingent is led by assistant director of sports & youth affairs department Dilip Chettri.
