Assam’s Shivangi Sarma brought laurels to the State by clinching her third gold medal in the U21 Girls 400 metre Freestyle Swimming Competition at the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games 2020 in Guwahati on Saturday.

The swimmer had bagged two gold medals in different categories of swimming competitions on Friday.

Shivangi on Friday bagged the top positions in the U21 Girls 200 metre and 800m Freestyle Swimming Competitions respectively.

The different categories of swimming competitions of Khelo India Youth Games 2020 started from Friday.

Shivangi’s  triple crown in the pool helped Assam touch double-figures in terms of gold medals won.

Assam is now in the seventh spot in the medals tally with a collection of 12 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze.

The first, second and third spot in the medals tally of the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 are currently being occupied by Maharashtra, Haryana and Delhi.

Maharashtra has bagged a total of 171 medals till now in the Games followed by Haryana and Delhi with 125 and 85 medals respectively.
