The Government has provided jobs in different government departments to 20,000 youths of the State in the first phase of the programme. The programme is to ensure a job in the Government sector for one member from every family in the State on a five-year ad hoc basis and thereafter, they will be regularised according to the Sikkim Service Rules.

These new recruits will be appointed in the Group C and Group D category. For Group D, the qualification required is Class IV and below Class X passed; and for Group C, all candidates have to be Class X passed and above.

He stated that 20,000 youths would be provided jobs in the first phase of the programme. However, he mentioned that despite of working even on holidays for two months the department has been able to prepare the appointment orders of around 12,000 at present and rest will be provided with their appointment letter very soon.

The Sikkim CM stated that this programme ‘One Family One Job’ of the State Government would be continued in the future as well.

He urged the people to support the programme of the government for its success.

However, he mentioned that after the announcement of this programme, some irresponsible elements have been trying to misguide the people by calling it temporary jobs. He asserted that these irresponsible elements have been lying to the people with baseless and unscientific statement.

Chamling also urged the people to have their full faith and believe on the government. He mentioned that they have to work as adhoc for five years and then every employee will be regularised after completing their service of five years.

“We have made the rule and norms to regularise everyone after completing the service of five years,” he said. He informed that 4313 MR, ad hoc and WC employees with service of five years will be regularised within January.

The Sikkim CM urged the people to see the works of the government and not to get misguide on irresponsible statement. He stated that negative forces in the State have been using the politics to deceive and mislead the people.

He stated that all employees will be automatically regularised after completing the service of five years. “This is the promise of Pawan Chamling and SDF party,” he said. He appealled to them to work hard and sincerely and serve the people by sincerely delivering their duties and responsibilities. He urged them to give their contribution in the State building process.

“There are no criteria for this programme and the only criteria of the programme are to provide the government job at least to a member of every family in Sikkim,” Sikkim CM said.

He added that with this programme the State will have around one lakh government employees which was the highest in the country and the world.
