The 38th edition of National Arm Wrestling Championship 2019 began in Sikkim on Monday.
The tournament is being held at the auditorium of Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School at Gyalshing in West Sikkim.
The two-day long championship is being organized by All Sikkim Arm Wrestling Association (ASAWA) under the aegis of Arm Wrestling Federation of India (AWFI).
Sikkim is hosting the national level arm wrestling championship for the first time.
Participants from Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and host Sikkim are competing in various categories of arm wrestling.
The inaugural function of the champion had the chairman of State Bank of Sikkim, D B Gurung as the chief guest.
The valedictory function of the championship will be held on Tuesday.
