The district-level Khelo India sports competition for East district of Sikkim came to an end on Saturday.
The inter-BAC competition was conducted for the age group of under-14 and under-19 for both boys and girls under ‘Sports for Peace and Development’ vertical of Khelo India 2018-19, according to reports.

On the closing day, the football finals of under-19 girls and boys were held at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok.
While Parakha BAC emerged victorious in the girls’ final defeating Pakyong BAC in a tie breaker, in the boys’ final, Gangtok BAC defeated Regu BAC 2-0.
The chief guest for the day was district collector Kapil Meena who is also a chairperson of Khelo India District Level Executive Committee, East district.

Arjuna awardee Jaslall Pradhan and the members of Sikkim Football Association were also present on the closing function.
The East district competition which began on February 18 had eight sports disciplines, namely, football, archery, badminton, table tennis, taekwondo, karate and athletics.
The competition was organized by Sports & Youth Affairs department and Khelo India District Level Executive Committee of the East district.
