Re-polling for 168 polling stations for the Tripura West Parliamentary constituency started at 7 am on Sunday morning under tight security.

Till 11 am, among the total of 141251 voters, 31.52 per cent voters had cast their votes taking place across eight sub-divisions in four districts.

The ECI had declared repoll after the Opposition CPI-M and Congress alleged massive booth capture and rigging by the ruling BJP and also demanded a total fresh election.

Both the parties had also knocked the door of the Supreme Court with the demand for total fresh election in this seat.
The ECI has suspended several poll officials and changed the RO of the West seat and removed an ADG level official beside taking few corrective steps for a repoll including central paramilitary force deployed at all booths, massive movement of security forces, CCTV installation and continuous recording at the voting room and also outside the center will live streaming at many places where proper net connectivity is available and several micro observers and special police observers at all the centres.

Till now there has been no report of any malfunction of EVM, VVPAT or untoward incident from any part.
Voting will end at 5 PM.
