Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took to Twitter and posted a somewhat cryptic message saying he is thinking to quit social media.

“This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. Will keep you all posted,” Modi tweeted.

The tweet has been retweeted 17000 times so far and received over 32000 comments till the filing of this report.

The tweet has received a mixed response with a section asking him to drop the idea and some saying to go ahead with it.

Whether PM Modi will actually quit social media or he has some other plans, only Sunday will tell.

Modi has been quite active in social media platforms, which he has effectively used to convey his government’s policy decisions.

His official Facebook page is liked by has 44M people, Facebook Group has 928K members, he is followed by 53.3M people on Twitter, he has 35.2M followers in Instagram and his official YouTube channel has 4.51M subscribers.
