Tears rolled down the cheeks of two brothers when they met after a gap of 43 years. It is not a scene from reel life but it happened in real life. Two brothers reunited after a long 43 years on Monday at Kokrajhar Titaguri. NRC verification at Titaguri NSK brought two brothers together after four decades.
53-year old Sukleswar Sutradhar and his younger brother 46-year old Bipin Sutradhar used to live together with their parents at Uttar Bolamguri in Bijni under Chirang district. After the demise of their parents both bothers were separated from each other. Bipin Sutradhar went to Dhemaji and Sukleswar Sutradhar landed in Kokrajhar. They have not seen each other since last 43 years.
Sukleswar Sutradhar settled with his wife and sons and daughters at Uttar Hekaipara part-2 Chandrapara in Kokrajhar district. On the other hand, Bipin Sutradhar settled with his family at Simasapuri in Dhemaji district.
Talking to reporters, Bipin Sutradhar said, “After the death of our parents we got separated from each other and now I have been living with my two sons and two daughters at Simasapuri in Dhemaji district.”
Bipin’s eldest daughter Sunu Sutradhar received notice from NRC for furnishing legacy data from her parents’ linkage. That is why they first reached at Bijni and later at Kokrajhar. Bipin could meet his elder brother Sukleswar Sutradhar at Titaguri NRC verification office and both of them were extremely happy after the reunion.
Sukleswar Sutradhar conveyed his thanks to the NRC verification process. “It was due to the verification process that we could meet each other,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dilip Kr Bhuyan NRC Titaguri verification officer said both the families received notice from NRC Kendra for verification of linkage of their family and both the families came to office where they were able to meet each other.
