Following damage of railway tracks due to heavy rainfall in Alipurduar division, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has cancelled services of 10 trains.
Most of the trains service of which has been cancelled are Fast Passenger, Demu Special and Intercity Express run across Assam and under Alipurduar division.

It was earlier reported that the NFR authorities had detained several trains in various railway stations as rain waters were overflowing tracks at Jorai railway station in Alipurduar division.
The NFR has informed that railway embankment has been damaged at km 169/7-6 in between New Cooch Behar and Bongaigaon affecting railway services badly.

As rains have damaged railway tracks in between Jorai-Kamakhyaguri, under Alipurduar division, the NFR authorities had no option but to cancel several trains.
Posting a cancellation notice on its Twitter handle, the NFR on Wednesday stated the (10) trains will remain cancelled for Thursday “in view of damage to track due to very heavy rainfall in Alipurduar division”.
According to the notice, the 55811 (Dhubri-Kamakhya) fast passenger scheduled to leave from Dhubri on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
The 07525 UP (Siliguri-New Bongaigaon) Demu Special scheduled to leave from Siliguri on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
The 07526 DN (New Bongaigaon-Siliguri) Demu Special scheduled to leave from New Bongaigaon on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
The 55713 UP (New Jalpaiguri-Rangiya) Passenger scheduled to leave from New Jalpaiguri on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
The 55714 (Rangiya-New Jalpaiguri) Passenger scheduled to leave from Rangiya on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
The 55753 UP (Alipurduar-Guwahati) Sifhung Passenger scheduled to leave from Alipurduar on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
The 15769 UP (Alipurduar-Lumding) Intercity Express scheduled to leave from Alipurduar on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.

The 15770 DN (Lumding-Alipurduar) Intercity Express scheduled to leave from Lumding on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
The 15771 UP (Alipurduar-Kamakhya) Intercity Express scheduled to leave from Alipurduar on July 25, 2019 will remain cancelled.
As per the NFR notice, the 15772 DN (Kamakhya-Alipurduar) Intercity Express, scheduled to leave from Kamakhya on July 25, 2019, will also remain cancelled.
“Inconvenience caused to the passengers is regretted,” the general manager (operations), NFR, stated in the notice.
In another tweet, the NFR stated: “Very heavy rainfall in Bongaigaon, Jorai and Kamakhyaguri areas of Assam & WestBengal over the last 24 hours.”
“Railway embankment damaged at km 169/7-6 between NewCooch Behar and Bongaigaon. Services badly hit. Senior engineers at site and restoration work is in progress,” it added.
