The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Monday reacted against a message being circulated on various social media platforms against its president and a former president.
The organization said it was deeply pained by the message circulated on WhatsApp and Facebook that its president Ninoto Awomi and a former president have “easy access” to internationally designated terrorist group ISIS, as demonstrated in the recently conducted mass rally in Delhi.
In a release, NSF vice president Dievi Yano and general secretary Liremo R. Kikon said the message is nothing but a blatant lie created by unknown individual(s) with malicious intent to defame the leaders of the Federation.
The release said the public should not give any credence to it.
The Federation directed the creator(s) of the “message” to come clean before its officials within a week from the date of issue of this clarification, failing which it will be compelled to pursue the matter by lodging a formal police complaint.
It also appealed to the public to be careful about various fake news doing the rounds in various social media groups and desist from blindly forwarding them.
