NPP declares support to NDPP candidate for elections to Nagaland Lok Sabha seat

NPP national president and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma met Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Monday (March 25).

KOHIMA: The National People’s Party (NPP) has announced its decision to support the candidate fielded by the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) for the elections to the Nagaland Lok Sabha seat.

The announcement of NPP’s support to the NDPP candidate for the Nagaland Lok Sabha seat was made by the party’s national president and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma.

The announcement was made by NPP national president and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma after meeting Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, who is also the president of the NDPP, on Monday (March 25).

“Called on Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio along with party leaders and party MLAs from Nagaland to extend support to NDPP for the ensuing Lok Sabha election,” Conrad Sangma said.

He added: “As coalition partner of the NDA, the NPP has resolved to extend full support to Lok Sabha candidate from Nagaland Dr Chumben Murry, sponsored by the NDPP.”
