Nagaland government on Monday announced that the employees of Nagaland Civil Secretariat will not receive their salaries in time if they fail to register their attendance daily in the biometric devices from February 1 next.

In a recently released notification, the Nagaland government also stated that the employees will have to mark their attendance while coming to office and when leaving after working hours.

“The parameters for deciding the satisfactory attendance for any employee, besides daily attendance, will also include maintenance of office timings, which is 9:30 am to 4:00 pm,” the notification reads.

The notification also stated that the attendance record of every employee of the Secretariat will be recorded on the first day of every month.

The Department of Information Technology and Communication will then provide the attendance record of the employees to Home Department.

After proper scrutiny by the Home Department, the employees with good attendance records will be given salary whereas a written reply will be sought from those whose salaries have been withheld.

Based on the written replies of the employees whose salaries have been withheld, the Home Department will decide the action that should be taken against them, the notification added.
