Nagaland has registered 82 new COVID19 positive cases on Thursday, taking the state’s overall tally to 2,580.
Confirming the news, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet on Thursday said the new cases have been detected out of 606 samples tested for COVID19.

“Update! State reports another 82 +ve cases of COVID-19. Out of 606 samples tested,” health minister Phom tweeted.
The health minister informed that of the new positive cases, Dimapur district has reported 58 new cases, Kohima has reported 22 cases and 2 cases have been detected in Phek district.
“Contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation,” Phom added.

According to the data on the state’s latest update on COVID19 status, prepared by the COVID19 war room, Nagaland, the state tally stands at 2,580 including 1,886 active cases.
A total of 685 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Nagaland after they tested negative.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 6 patients in Nagaland so far.
