Nagaland has registered 61 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 3,455.

Confirming the news, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Monday said the new positive cases have been detected out of 577 samples tested.

“61 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed out of 577 samples tested,” the health minister said.

The health minister informed that of the new positive cases, 34 have been detected in Dimapur, 24 in Kohima, 2 in Zunheboto and 1 has been detected in Mokokchung.

“Necessary contact tracing has been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation. Wear mask, stay safe!” said Phom.

According to the data prepared by the COVID19 war room, Nagaland, with the new cases, the total number of positive cases registered in Nagaland reached 3,455 on Monday.

As per the data shared by the state nodal officer (IDSP) of the Nagaland health department, of the total positive cases, 1,511 are armed forces personnel.

While 1,177 cases are returnees/travelers, 490 are traced contacts, 223 are frontline workers and 54 are others.

The others are cases related to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Raj Bhavan, and patients excluding the returnees, said the nodal officer.

Nagaland currently has 2,019 active COVID19 cases.

A total of 1,422 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Nagaland after they tested negative.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 7 positive patients so far.

One more positive patient also passed away in the state, however, the health department said the patient died due to other reasons.
