Nagaland has registered 18 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 3,340.
Confirming the news, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said the new positive cases have been detected out of 348 samples tested.
“Update! 18 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 348 samples tested,” health minister Phom said.
The health minister informed that of the new positive cases, Kohima has reported 16 cases and 1 each case has been reported from Wokha and Tuensang districts.
“Necessary contact tracing has activated. Wear mask, keep distance, stay safe,” said the health minister.
According to the data on the state’s COVID19 status, prepared by the Nagaland health department and issued by the state nodal officer of the department (ISDP), of the total positive cases, 1,468 patients are from the armed forces.
While 1,161 positive cases were detected from the returnees, 445 cases were detected from the traced contacts.
A total of 212 frontline workers have tested positive for COVID19 so far.
The state nodal officer of the health department (ISDP) mentioned that 54 cases are others who tested positive for the virus.
