The locals of Tuensang district of Nagaland still rue that the about 350-metre stretch of road on National Highway-202 that was washed away by massive landslide near Yayi bridge under Tuensang district in the month of July early this year remains to be restored.

Despite repeated appeals by the civil society organizations to the Neiphiu Rio government, nothing has been done so far much to the inconvenience and annoyance of the locals.
Notably, Nagaland Governor, P B Acharya, on his three-day visit to Kiphire last month had carried out spot inspection of the landslide area near Yayi Bridge on September 21 last and assured of early repair of the damaged portion of the road.
The particular road, which serves as lifeline between Kiphire and Tuensang, has been left unattended for quite some time now causing immense hardship to the people of the area.
Meanwhile, the Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) had said that people living in the area were facing massive crisis due to snapping of road connectivity between the two districts.
The people have expressed utter disgruntlement that the State Government has turned a blind eye to problem of the public and various civil society organizations despite repeated appeals for the restoration of the road.
According to sources, the department was contemplating fresh cutting because the old road has been damaged beyond repair.
