The Nagaland government on Tuesday restricted entry of visitors to the Nagaland Civil Secretariat complex with immediate effect until further notice in view of the recent surge in Covid19 cases in the state.

In a notification, the home department of Nagaland said all the employees must produce valid identity card to the checking staff while entering the secretariat.

It advised all the employees of the establishment not to entertain outsiders/visitors and to follow precautionary measures of wearing mask, regular washing of hands and maintaining social/physical distancing to ensure general safety at all times.

Apart from the nodal officers, officers and staff from the directorates/districts on official duty may enter the secretariat after obtaining due permission from the officer concerned in the secretariat not below the rank of under secretary.

Any other visitors in exceptional cases will require permission of the home department for entry into the secretariat, the notification stated.

On Monday, Nagaland recorded 55 new Covid19 cases.

Of the news cases, Dimapur registered 38 cases, Kohima – 9, Mokokchung & Mon – 3 each while Kiphire and Longleng registered 1 case each.

Three patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered on Monday.

Till Monday, Nagaland’s total Covid19 cases stood at 13,238 and the number of active cases was 727.

So far a total of 88 people have died of Covid19 in Nagaland.
