Guwahati: Union Minister Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya visited Nagaland’s Government Middle School in Kuda village, Dimapur, on February 21 and spoke about the Centreโs ongoing push to strengthen public education and expand development initiatives across the northeastern region.
During her interaction with students and teachers, she said the government is working to ensure schools are equipped with proper facilities, including safe drinking water, sanitation, and improved classroom infrastructure.
According to her, creating better conditions in schools is essential for helping children focus on learning and building their future.
She said national programmes are designed to support farmers, women, youth, and economically weaker sections, adding that development must reach every section of society. Encouraging the use of locally produced goods, she noted that regional growth depends on stronger local economies.
Speaking about the National Education Policy, Bambhaniya explained that it encourages practical knowledge, skill development, and learning in familiar languages so that students can grow with confidence and independence. She added that educational institutions across the country are undergoing upgrades to improve academic standards and student facilities.
Students presented a cultural programme during the visit, which the minister commended, describing it as a reflection of their creativity and energy.
At the gathering, School Management Board Chairman Duoneinuo Kire addressed the audience and spoke about the schoolโs role in shaping early education in the area. She also submitted a request seeking better remuneration for mid-day meal cooks.
